The Spirit of Japan

Cherryblossom is the spirit of Japan and has been loved by Japanese people for more than 1000 years.
If you want to feel and find out  real Japan, cherryblossom is a MUST to see.

Like European people enjoy carnival before the Easter drinking and easting until they vomit, Japanese people also party watching the cherryblossom and drink and eat outisde and they miss their last trains because they are too drunk.

It's a Japanese carnival.

Numerous poets and writers spent pages and pages expressing their love about this flower. The oldest book wrote about cherryblossom was 1300 years ago. The book is called KOJIKI which literally means old record about Japan.

Cherryblossom is also a symbol of decisiveness. Cherryblossom blooms beautifully for only a week and the petals start falling down after a week.

You can only enjoy cherryblossom for a week.

It's a short and fleeting life.

Samurai lived like cherryblossom, they fought decisively and they died. It's interesting that not many Samurai families used cherryblossom as a family crest since the life is too short.

Every April, I am tempted to go back to Japan to see the cherryblossom. Cherryblossom is definately my melancholy and a reminder of my love for Japan.
Near my grandmother's house, there is a street covered by cherryblossoms' trees, and they look like a wedding dress. I simply enjoyed the moment when I passed this street and melted away with these falling petals.

If you plan to stay in Japan this year to see cherryblossom, I recommmend this hostel in Osaka. TEN HOSTEL OSAKA offers 20 % off  for the best season for cherryblossom from April 8th until April 20th. Easy access to Kyoto, Kobe, Nara which are also attractive cities to visit.
